Education
I was born and raised in Muenster, TX, and I attended the public school there from K-12. Even though I did not attend the Catholic School in Muenster, my family was very active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. I graduated from Muenster High School, where I played basketball, ran track, participated in cheer, and played tennis. My favorite sport was basketball, and I take pride in the fact that I was part of the first team in the history of the school to make it to State Basketball Championship Game. I was given the honor of being a named to the All-State basketball team and Academic All-State basketball team, and I was elected to be a member of the All-State tournament team. I accepted a scholarship to the University of Dallas, where I played college basketball for one year. I then transferred to Texas Woman's University as part of an engineering program called the Foundation Coalition. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Mathematics and minor in Computer Science.
Job Experience
After graduating from Texas Woman's University, I accepted a job teaching Calculus, Pre-Calculus, and Algebra at Castleberry High School in Fort Worth. After one year teaching, I accepted a computer programming position at a company in Irving, TX, named Insurdata at the time. I have been employed at that company, which is now Healthaxis Inc., for the last 22 years. After having children, I stepped down into a part-time position at that company as a software manager, and am still employed there today. In addition to computer programming, I have been coaching youth volleyball and youth basketball for the last 7 years. In the past several years, I have attended several coaching and leadership clinics/camps in my free time, and enjoy playing and being a student of the game of volleyball and basketball.
Why I feel called to coach at ICCS:
When I was younger and playing the game of basketball myself, I always wanted to Coach the game to others, but that was not the path that God lead me down initially. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, and I can see the work that God has done in my life to bring me to this place in my life. My children have been attending ICCS for the last seven years, and there is no other school like this one. This school develops the whole child, and being able to bring faith and religion into the gym with the kids is very important. This school is the perfect place to teach humility, meekness, and great sportsmanship. I feel very blessed to be given this opportunity.
Personal
My husband, Ed, and I met in mass at St. Mark's Parish 19 years ago. We were married a couple years later at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, where my parents were active members. We have now been married for 17 years. God blessed us with 2 beautiful children who are 12 years old and currently in the seventh grade at ICCS. We are currently members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
