Immaculate Conception Catholic School
History

The History of ICCS goes far back into the past, even before the dates recorded here.  It goes back to the life of Jesus.  It goes back to the Creation. It even goes back to where there was no beginning.  The History of ICS is not limited to moments either.  It is encompassing all the moments of our journey as we continue on towards the future, and on to where there will be no end.

1995 ICCS was established as a member of the Fort Worth Diocesan Schools with an enrollment of 74 students in grades PreK 3 through 2nd grade.  ICCS is an education Ministry of Immaculate Conception Church (ICC) and Saint Mark Church (SMC).  The school was located in the ICC Parish Center and Education Building.
1996 Pre-K 3 was dropped and 3rd grade was added, for a total of 92 students. The school would continue to add one grade each year through sixth grade.  A fenced playground with new equipment and soccer field was added.  Computers became a part of the classrooms.
1997   Pre-K 3 was re-established and 4th grade was added, for a total of 111 students.  Permission was granted by the Fort Worth Diocese to become a Pre-K through eighth grade school.  An anonymous benefactor purchased two two portable buildings to accommodate our growth.  ICCS received Provisional Accreditation from the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED).
1998 The ICCS Advisory Council began the process to build a new school in the near future.  There was an enrollment of 138 students in Pre-K 3 through fifth grade.  There was still only one class per grade due to space constraints.  Students came from Denton, Krum, Corinth, Argyle, Flower Mound, Gainesville, Krugerville, Valley View, Decatur, Sanger, Bartonville, Lewisville, Lake Dallas, Rhome, Highland Village, and Oak Point.
1999 Building of a new school was in the developing stages.  There was one class per grade, Pre-K  through sixth grade, and enrollment was 176 students.
2000 There is an enrollment of 209 students in PreK 3 through 7th grade.  8th grade will be added next year.
2001 This year, we have two Pre-K 3 classes offered. One on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the other on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Two Pre-k 4 class, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  We also have two First Grade classes.  ICS currently has 173 families with  257 students enrolled.  Ground was broken July 15, 2001, on the construction of a new Immaculate Conception Catholic School which will eventually house 450 students.
2002   Following more than a year of preparation and a visit by a state accreditation team, Immaculate Conception Catholic School was granted full accreditation status in May 2002.  The school promoted its first class of 15 eighth grade students in May 2002.   Classes began August 19, 2002, in the new facility located at 2301 North Bonnie Brae Street with double sections of Pre-K through 2nd grade and single sections of 3rd - 8th grades.
2003

Our enrollment has continued to grow in a very healthy manner as we will begin 2003-2004 with some 286 students.  We added a second 3rd grade this year.  Future plans call for the completion of a Phase II construction that would add six classrooms to the east wing of the new facility.
